packaging

STUDENT WORK 2022
Packaging Design Studio

This project had two parts. The first challenge was to make a standardized package for a product. The package needed a common shape and an easy and efficient design. The second challenge was to do the same thing for the same product design, an experimental package that was creative and out of the box.

I wanted to transform the T-shirt into special packaging using sustainable materials versus having the T-shirt on a hanger or in plastic bags.

conventional

For regular packaging, the box had to have a standard shape and size. It was meant to hold one t-shirt and make the product feel luxurious. Usually, t-shirts don't come in boxes. By putting them in a box, it becomes special to the brand. What stands out in this package design is the big print on the top of the box; when these boxes are shown, it's easy to read the size the customer wants.

EXPERIMENTAL

For experimental packaging, the shape and size of the die cut could vary. The only requirement was to be different and innovative. Repurposing the packaging as a t-shirt folder seemed like a smart option. Theoretically, the package could hold one t-shirt and function as a DIY t-shirt folder. The packaging also includes instructions on how to cut and use it as a t-shirt folder.
